The other night we were heading out to have dinner with some new friends. In the car, we engaged in our first real conversation with each other the whole day – as you do when you are working and have 4 little munchkins taking up most of the attention. Before we knew it, our superficial conversation turned in to an argument as we breached the conversation of finance. ARGH! The story of most arguments. Our blow up was about the massive needs we have and how they are stacking up higher and higher right before our eyes. Naturally, we both have different responses to this subject and it was still unresolved by the time we made it to the house.

Leaving the conversation behind us, we had a great time getting to know this couple better. The guys talked about guitars as both men are musicians. We talked about ministry, marriage, and family. They were a breath of fresh air to us as we tried forgetting all the drama of our argument.

As we getting up to leave, the men headed off into the other room. Us girls stayed in the

Suffering in Silence
A few years back, our really good friend and old ministry director Robyn Mulligan was praying for us. She said, “When I think of Luke and Ang… I think of perseverance… You guys always seem to quietly push through no matter how hard the circumstances get, yet you do it in silence. Keep letting people in.” This came to mind today as Luke and I were praying. Our silence has never been intentional, I think over the years we have been jaded by many missionary newsletters with the urgency of some kind of need and maybe we haven’t wanted to bombard people with our own needs.
