The land of the Free and the home of the Brave

So, we spent our first 4th of July here in America. It was a pretty mellow day overall and after the kids being confused SEVERAL times over what country we're in and which country's birthday it is... we basically came to one simple explanation and that was that.

We shared how God blessed the people who wanted to serve him with all their hearts and made them a free people. And that we need to live like that every day and he will always make a way for us to serve him with our whole hearts. They can understand that much. ;)

Anyway, we went to a newly discovered lookout with some friends and watched fireworks in abundance. Xavier squealed in delight as he watched each one blast in the air. The kids jumped and hoorayed with each blow and it brought joy to think how blessed we are.

The next day, we had a visit from Ang's brother and family. The cousins delighted in each other's company as they enjoyed playing through the day. We had a wonderful family day... we are so blessed!
