Our team is still in Los Angeles. Not long now before they depart to Thailand. Here is the latest from them:
Hello from Hollywood!
This week in Kidz Klub, half of our team helped host three Christmas parties with kids from local schools. A lot of these children come from broken homes or are living in poverty, and most do not look forward to Christmas. As the kids came running through the doors, their little faces lit up with excitement as they saw all of the decorations and Christmas gifts that were waiting just for them! Some of the kids had been practicing in the choir for weeks and performed a festive trio of songs for their peers and parents. Having the opportunity to bless and share Jesus with these families was one of the highlights of Outreach so far! At each party, dozens of parents and children alike responded to the outpouring of God's love by inviting Jesus into their hearts.
Meanwhile, half of our team served YWAM LA and Water for Life by getting their hands dirty completing various projects around the base. The focus was tangible missions, which aims to present the Gospel by meeting physical needs and ministering in life-changing, empowering ways that provide food, income, and freedom for families around the globe. We dug trenches, repaired a water tank, and helped lay out gardens that the ministry will use to research methods of sustainable gardening that can be used in various climates around the world.
Overall, this week was filled with a lot of hard work for the glory of God. It was tiring, but worth it all because we saw God move in amazing ways. We're living in expectation of what He has in store for our last week in LA, as well as for our time in Southeast Asia.
As mentioned last week, we would appreciate prayers as far as finances go. We all have faith that God will provide, but the deadline for the money is drawing closer and closer. Our school needs about 9,000 by the end of tomorrow. We wait upon the Lord.
We hope you all have a very merry Christmas!
Love in Christ,
